We have created this business to fill a clear service gap in the township, many local residents didn't have access to convenient high quality laundry services. We have invested in smart technology, user friendly systems aiming to make life easier for local residents. We are applying for this award to gain recognition and support as a young start up working hard to improve essential services in a growing rural town.

Resonate Health focuses on a holistic approach to hearing health, looking at the impact of hearing health on a person’s overall quality of life. Our Ear360 appointment provides a 10-point comprehensive picture of hearing health, exploring the relationship between hearing and other aspects of health: tinnitus, sleep, balance, and memory. Our Unlimited Hearing Aid Subscription provides top of the line hearing devices for only $90 a month, the only hearing aid subscription service in New Zealand. This means premium hearing aids are more financially accessible for more Kiwis, as they can have top of the range technology for a low monthly subscription.

PG Beauty is a small NZ-owned beauty brand started by a mother–daughter duo, Christina and Lisa. We launched as Practigal in 2023 and learned a lot by doing. We saw which products people loved, where we went wrong, and what needed to change. In 2025, we’re rebranding to PG Beauty, a fresh name and look that reflects how far we’ve come and where we’re heading. Black Sands Immigration Consulting started in April 2024, after the recruitment company we worked for went into liquidation. It was a stressful time, but we saw an opportunity to build something better. We had already helped hundreds of migrants in our previous roles and knew we worked well together, yin and yang, with strengths that balance each other out. We wanted to create a service that was practical, honest, and people-focused. We work closely with each client—no generic templates, just advice that fits their situation. For migrants, we help make sense of their options. For businesses, we create and support strategies to not only attract but retain offshore talent. We’re also heavily involved in the local dairy farming space. We understand the challenges farmers face and the realities their workers deal with. In our first year, we helped over 20 exploited workers recover their immigration status. We’ve run clinics, partnered with local unions, and shown up for our community in Canterbury.

Time Lawns and Landscaping is a Rolleston-based start-up offering professional lawn care and landscaping services for residential, lifestyle block and commercial property owners. We’re proud to provide reliable, sustainable solutions, from new lawn installations and planting plans to irrigation setup, lawnmowing, and garden maintenance. To deliver on our commitment to providing exceptional results, we’ve invested $100,000 in top end equipment - a big commitment for a start-up, but we’re all in! Our Director, Gerry Knight, is currently completing two papers – Horticulture level 3 (800 hours of online study) and an Irrigation Management – horticulture paper (100 hours). This knowledge will be invaluable for our clients and business. Gerry is also working with an architect to design a 3D landscaping package, so we can use cutting-edge technology to show clients different landscaping options in a virtual format.
